It’s very nearly May, let’s hope all of these April showers are preparing us for May flowers.

We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed lots of chocolate. The team here just about managed to resist all the chocolate eggs before we handed them out to all of the happy, smiley faces.

Our theme this past month has been covering everything from growing, farming, gardening and celebrating Easter.

The older children have been out in our gardening area planting cress – learning all about the process from seed to your egg sandwich! The team has also been planting lots of vegetables, which once ready, will be picked and used to create delicious dinners. We hope the children have enjoyed learning about farm to fork and understanding more about where their food comes from.

The younger children have been getting arty and creating lots of pictures and paintings (which we hope you have enjoyed receiving) in all areas of the themes.

With help from their key workers, the Tweenies created a wonderful large display of a farmyard scene. With lots of cutting, sticking and creativity the piece has been made and will hang brightly on the wall.

We have also celebrated Vaisakhi, also known as Baisakhi, which is a historical and religious festival in Sikhism and Hinduism. All the children enjoyed learning about the festival and understanding more about different cultures from around the world.
