This month we wanted to talk more about our Pre School room.
In our preschool room, each child is encouraged to learn and develop in a welcoming, stimulating and fun environment before their transition into school. We encourage them to co-operate with one another, make friends, share their own experiences and take turns.
Our team overseeing all of our wonderful pre-schoolers is Tina Woodward who is our childcare manager and Julie Hassell.
Tina has been at First Steps 22 years and is qualified to level 6, which means she holds Early Years Professional Status. She is also our Safeguarding of Children Officer. Alongside Tina, is Julie, who has been a part of our dedicated team for over 10 years, she is qualified to level three in Childcare and also holds all current First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.
Our preschool room, as you can imagine, is a place full of hustle and bustle, with lots of laughter, learning and fun taking place.
We provide a dedicated learning environment so each child makes steady progress towards the Early Learning Goals which are part of the Early Years Foundation Framework
From an early age, children are encouraged to learn about other cultures and this ethos of diversity and equality is promoted throughout the nursery.
Every Thursday, we run a French club for the children in our preschool room. The club is run by a qualified French teacher and gives the children an introduction to the concept of a wide range of spoken languages across the world. If you would like any more information on this, please ask our team.
All our activities are carefully planned by our team, who are qualified in Early Years Development and inspected by OFSTED to ensure the effectiveness of our teaching.
We are always happy to chat to parents about their child in the lead up to school, we know this time can be important as people often worry if their child is ready for that next big step. So please do speak with us if you would like a meeting or a one-to-one session with your child’s key worker.
If you have any concerns or want to know more about what a day is like in our Pres School room – you can contact Ian on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01625 859867.
