Celebrate libraries at one of Poynton’s special events:

  • iTea and Biscuits on Monday 8 October at 10.00-12.00 noon. Bring along your laptop, tablet or smartphone and get help from one of our IT Buddies. Free, drop-in event.
  • Libraries Week coffee morning on Monday 8 October at 10.00-12.00 noon. Macmillan Cancer Support will be hosting an advice desk during this time.
  • Book Chat on Tuesday 9 October at 2.00-3.00pm. Join us for our regular informal book group. Contact the library for details of this month’s theme or just drop in to listen or chat over tea or coffee.

Autumn Fair in aid of Marie Curie on Saturday 13th October at the Civic Hall from 10.00am to 2.00pm.


Sunday 14th October – Mum2Mum Market – Hazel Grove High School

The next Mum2Mum Market at Hazel Grove High School is on Sunday 14th October 2018 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

This nearly-new baby and children’s market for mums selling to other mums.  Buy and sell children’s clothes and maternity wear, equipment, toys and prams. Stalls must be booked in advance.

Saturday 20th September – EU Code Week 2018 – Poynton Library

On Saturday 20 October at 10.00am – 3.00pm Poynton Library has an amazing free drop-in Code-a-Drone event with Mako Create. Learn how to code a mini-drone to take off, fly, turn, and land safely. Then, take on a range of challenges that put these new skills to the test! No previous coding or drone flying experience necessary. Children aged under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Families welcome.


Thursday 25th October – Spooky Rhymetime – Poynton Library

Join the team on Thursday 25 October at 10.30am for a spooky edition of rhymetime for preschool children. Fancy dress welcome.

Friday 26th October – Halloween Kids Disco – High Lane Conservative Club

High Lane Conservative Club is holding its Halloween Kids Disco on the 26th October – 6pm – 8.30pm.

Bring your best-carved pumpkin as it was a huge hit last year and wear your best scariest fancy dress for an evening of fun and dancing, with prizes.

Children £1.00 each and Adults Free.  As always, refreshments are available from the bar.

On Tuesday 30 October at 6.00pm join the team for some spooky stories. Fancy dress or nightwear welcome – and Teddy…if they’re not too afraid.
