Our wonderful, patient and loving ‘Toddlers’ team, consists of Lauren Griffiths, Carla Cotterill, Chloe Taylor and Tracey O’Hare, who look after children aged around 22 months to 2 ½ years.
The ‘Toddlers’ room provides children with a stimulating, fun and playful start to their educational life. Our age-appropriate methods help toddlers develop their natural instincts and encourage them to try and do things for themselves.
We pride ourselves on working in partnership with parents to help and advise on each child’s changing needs as they get more independent (eg. potty training, sleep routines, hand washing etc.)
Children are, therefore, well prepared for the next stage of their journey through First Steps.
Firstly, Lauren has been with First Steps for 10 years and has just returned to work three days a week after the birth of her own little girl, Lily.
Secondly, meet Carla, she’s our ‘Toddlers’ room leader and our under 3’s coordinator. She has been with us 13 years and the place wouldn’t be the same without her!
Next, we have Chloe, who is the twin sister of our other team member, Joanna! Chloe has been employed by us for nearly two years but had been doing placements here as part of her qualification long before that. She, like the rest of the team, holds the NVQ 3 qualification in Child Development, current paediatric first aid certificates and is trained in safeguarding.
And last but not least, meet Tracey. Tracey is our newest member of the family and has been with us for six months. She is currently extending her professional development by studying for her level 3 Children’s Care Learning and Development. Tracey also holds current First Aid and Safeguarding certificates as well as an NVQ 3 in Playwork.
