The weeks leading up to Christmas are one of our favourite times in the nursery as we plan and take part in all our festive events with the children.

We hope you enjoyed this year’s nativity which was our biggest and best yet with over 30 children in the group. Due to it being so popular with parents and carers, we held it at Poynton High School rather than here at First Steps. Getting up in front of a big audience can be daunting for little children and I’m sure you’ll all agree that they all did brilliantly – we’re very proud of each and every one of them. Thank you to all our staff for their hard work in making it such a success.

We’ve also been having lots of fun and getting in a festive mood with a host of events. All the staff and children enjoyed the fabulous Christmas dinner prepared by our cook Charlotte. And our Christmas party was a huge hit, it was wonderful to see everyone dressed up in their best festive outfits.

It is, of course, a time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and so we’ve been busy fundraising for Children in Need and Save the Children. The Pudsey mask competition raised £112 and the Christmas jumper day raised a further £88 – thank you to everyone who lent their support.

This time of year, can be very stressful for parents who are trying to prepare while working and juggling everyday tasks, but remember we’re open until 6pm on Monday 23rd in case you have any last-minute jobs to do.

Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas from everyone here at First Steps and we’ll see you back in the new decade when we reopen at 7am on Thursday 2nd January.
