September has flown by – we’re not sure where the time has gone, we were waving off August and now it’s suddenly October!

Across September every room explored two themes, Autumn/Harvest and Space. We have had such a blast (excuse the pun!)

The children in our toddler rooms have been enjoying the big rocket that we made – we’ve had many successful rocket launches, some even landing on the moon and other planets!

We have also explored darkness, making lots of dens and using sensory, projector and light-up toys to help the children’s imagination and creativity in play.

To explore Autumn, we have been collecting leaves out on our adventures, learning about owls and other nocturnal animals as well as continuing lots of messy play.

We have also been getting very crafty with creating two large displays, one showcasing all our handmade planets, the other using the younger children’s hands to create an autumnal tree.

And finally, we have been getting the last of our harvested crops and spending some time preparing them for our cooked meals. The children really enjoyed helping us with the last of this year’s beans.

We hope you all have a wonderful month ahead – and as always if you have anything at all you want to discuss with us just ask any team member or contact Ian on hello@firststepspoynton.co.uk or call 01625 859867.
