April was a wonderful month, filled with fresh air, potting, planting, laughter and fun!

We have done so much on our theme this month, from crafts to activities, stories and getting quite messy. Once again we helped our children to become green-fingered and plant some things for our veggie patches outside.

We also spent a little more time learning all about life cycles from how blossom grows into a fruit, to eggs grow into ducks. We hope your children have been sharing their new found knowledge with you at home.

This week we handed back some cress the children have been growing, we are so proud of their efforts and hope you can use it in some egg butties this week!

We hope all the children enjoyed their chocolate eggs again this year, Ian had another hard time not eating any of them as they sat hidden for a few weeks. Wasn’t the weather just amazing, we hope all parents had a wonderful time, the children came back telling us all about their adventures away from the nursery.

We also started our project of butterflies again, which will end again very soon. The children have learnt about the cycle of butterflies all starting with some Caterpillars and watching their life cycle before setting them free as butterflies.

We look forward to another busy month ahead and hope for more sunshine! So, please ensure all bags are packed with suitable hats and sun creams, so we can open the doors and make the most of the fresh air and outdoor space.

As always if you have anything at all you want to discuss with us just ask any team member or contact Ian on hello@firststepspoynton.co.uk or call 01625 859867.
