Bye Bye March, you have been even busier than a usual month here at First Steps!

As we welcome in April we look back over all the fun and learning achieved in the last month here across all our rooms.

We’ve been finishing up the theme of shapes and ourselves and had visitors in to help explore dental hygiene.

Dental Playbox was fabulous as always and came in to talk to the children about teeth, dental hygiene and visiting the dentist. They all really enjoyed the puppets and learning more about what’s good and bad for teeth. We hope you all got a copy of the charts to complete – and remember bring these back in get your child’s certificate.

Right at the start of the month we all enjoyed pancakes, in which some of the children even helped make – they were delicious, and every age group enjoyed them as a pudding.

We were so pleased to see so many children excited and joining in on World Book Day, with reading rates dropping year on year – we are all dedicated to keeping the love of reading alive. Some of the costumes were brilliant and we had so many books to read through and enjoy – we went around the world on some magical adventures.

Towards the middle of the month, the nation celebrated Comic Relief – and First Steps joined in. We had some great red outfits and we raised a small sum to help towards the tireless work the charity does every year. We also did some joke circles and encouraged the children to be a little bit silly and tell everyone their best joke. As you can imagine we all were giggling away.

We do hope all our lovely mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day and liked their cards we made across the age groups. Even the babies got creative – so we hope they were a wonderful addition to make your day special.

As always if you have anything at all you want to discuss with us just ask any team member or contact Ian on or call 01625 859867.
