Babies at First Steps
Our baby room is designed to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating space to meet the specific needs of our young babies. In this room every detail has been carefully considered to create a space that promotes a sense of comfort and early development.
The environment is warm and inviting, where your little ones will embark on their first exciting pathway of discovery and growth. In this room, we have dedicated staff who have experience in nurturing the very youngest children in our nursery. They consistently strive to put every parent at ease in the knowledge their baby is receiving attentive and loving care from day one at First Steps.
When your child starts at nursery, there will be a gradual settling in period which is usually done over a period of two weeks and we can tailor these sessions to meet the needs of your child.
Tweenies
14 months – 24 months
The Tweenie room is a dynamic space targeted to support the children’s growth of independence, curiosity and creativity.
Early Years
2 years – 3 years
In Early Years your child will be encouraged to start making more independent decisions, with a variety of free choice activities to choose from.
Pre School
3 years – 5 years
In Pre-School your child is encouraged to learn and develop in a fun environment, giving a structured routine and opportunity for free play.
Sensory
All ages
In addition to the children’s base rooms we also have a fun and stimulating sensory room for the children to enjoy.
Outdoors
At First Steps we have an abundance of outdoor space including 3 gardens, each filled with resources targeted at different ages.
