Early Years at First Steps
At this stage the children have already started to form a variety of relationships, building stronger friendships as they progress through nursery life.
Through both indoor and outdoor provision, the children are encouraged to investigate and explore at every opportunity. We work alongside your child to facilitate their early language and literacy development, whilst combining all the skills they have attained since entering First Steps. They are encouraged to participate in a mixture of activities with other children including creative paintings, messy games and outdoor play.
If they still wish to do so, the children can have an afternoon sleep after their lunchtime meal.
Babies
3 months-14 months
Our baby room is a stimulating, bright and welcoming space designed to meet the specific needs of our young babies.
Tweenies
The Tweenie room is a dynamic space targeted to support the children’s growth of independence, curiosity and creativity.
Pre School
3 years – 5 years
In Pre-School your child is encouraged to learn and develop in a fun environment, giving a structured routine and opportunity for free play.
Sensory
In addition to the children’s base rooms we also have a fun and stimulating sensory room for the children to enjoy.
Outdoors
At First Steps we have an abundance of outdoor space including 3 gardens, each filled with resources targeted at different ages.
