Pre School at First Steps
In Pre-School your child is encouraged to learn and develop in a fun environment, giving a structured routine and opportunity for free play, preparing them for their upcoming transition to school. We encourage the children to co-operate with one another, develop friendships, share experiences and take turns. There are ample activities and resources available, such as different educational programmes and digital games to support language development, creativity and growth of mathematical concepts.
We provide a dedicated learning environment, so each child makes steady progress towards the Early Learning Goals, preparing your child for academic success.
From an early age, children are educated and encouraged to learn about different cultures and this ethos of diversity and equality is promoted throughout the nursery.
All our activities are carefully planned by our team, all of whom are qualified in (or working towards) Early Years Development, and inspected by OFSTED to ensure the effectiveness of our teaching.
Babies
3 months – 14 months
Our baby room is a stimulating, bright and welcoming space designed to meet the specific needs of our young babies.
Tweenies
14 months – 24 months
The Tweenie room is a dynamic space targeted to support the children’s growth of independence, curiosity and creativity.
Early Years
2 years – 3 years
In Early Years your child will be encouraged to start making more independent decisions, with a variety of free choice activities to choose from.
Sensory
In addition to the children’s base rooms we also have a fun and stimulating sensory room for the children to enjoy.
Outdoors
At First Steps we have an abundance of outdoor space including 3 gardens, each filled with resources targeted at different ages.
